Can you help me think of a good job title for what I do? |
Okay, basically, I work in an office, posting apartment ads online on sites such as craigslist.org for an apartment management company, basically what you'd see in the newspaper but with a lot more detail, pictures, etc. And I post a lot of ads a day, around 40 or 50. But, for the life of me, I can't think of a good job title. I'm going along the lines of 'Online Advertisement ______' but I can't find a word for that blank that fits. Poster sounds dull and Specialist is a bit much, as my job really isn't that hard or complicated. I'm updating my resume, but I'm stuck here. Job duties are easy to describe, but the title is whats giving me trouble. Any ideas would be great. Remember, I want it to sound good, but not over-glorify the position and make it seem like my job is more important than it is. Thanks for the help! P.S. And yes, I've tried a thesaurus with no luck lol. I would say you have some great suggestions - but it would depend on what you are using it for. The correct answer is dependent on where you want to go. If you are applying to journalism school - go with Copywriter. If you are apply for an office job Clerk would be the way to go. Words can carry different values - while having a similar meaning: None of the following is hard & fast rules - it is just intangible tendencies - Agent - slanted towards sales Clerk - leaning toward a general office person Technician - more about the technical aspects (duh) Specialist - I agree that this is highly over used, but that also makes it "normal" "Marketing" is more towards the sales end than "Advertising" and "Promotion/Promoting" is different still. "Real Estate" is higher prestige than "Rental" "Online" is more technical inclined than "Internet" - I would use "Online" with a company that was fairly tech-savvy and "Internet" with a strictly off-line kind of place. My personal favorites - Online Copywriter (writing) Online Advertising Agent (sales) Rental Marketing Clerk (creative/office) Source(s): 20+ years resume writing & career counseling professional Real-estate marketing coordinator. rental management ASSOCIATE, CREATOR, THAT IS HARD. administrator? dont know if thats the right term? Rental management coordinator Your job was to get renter together with the renters, right? |
