Has anyone ever tried a work from home data entry jobs?


I work full time but am looking for extra work because I need the money. I have seen the data entry from home jobs where you put something like $97 down to get started. Are these bogus? Has anyone ever tried this? Anyone have any companies they would recommend?

Any job that requies you to pay for the opportunity to work is a scam. I've been in data processing for 35 years. The days of data entry have been replaced with scanning and file transfers.

Now there are some jobs - like medical encoder, that you can do from home. You code the appropriate insurance code on patient claim forms for the Dr. There are classes taught for this because you need to be able to figure out the right codes. This was a big deal 10 years ago. As a private person, your problem is to find a set of Drs who need this done. Most everyone nowdays contracts the work out to companies that specialize in it.

The answer from the other guy sounds like he's the one going to get your $97 for a one page sheet listing things you can do - none of which are used by businesses anymore. I flaged his 'abuse' and it looks like his answer got whacked.

Sorry there just are not a lot of part time online jobs unless you have specialized skills.
