How much do they pay an architect in the UK?

Is it enough for renting an appartment and having my own car... etc

It depends on your experience / qualifications. If you are already qualified - then yes, definately:

Salaries vary depending on the size and location of the practice. The Royal Society of Architects in Wales publishes a rough guide to the kind of salaries you can expect at the various stages of qualification (salary data collected May 06):

* part one, or first year out 拢15,000 - 拢18,500
* part two, or recent post-diploma 拢22,000 - 拢26,000
* part two, one to two years post-diploma 拢26,000 - 拢29,000; * part three, newly registered 拢29,000 - 拢32,000;
* part three, three to five years post-registration 拢34,000 - 拢40,000

From then on, range of typical salaries at senior level/with experience (eg, after 10-15 years in role): 拢32,000 to 拢80,000, depending on seniority of position reached in the practice. Source(s): http://www.prospects.ac.uk/cms/showpage/...
