What kinda careers could I look in to? |
This is probably a bit of a silly question but I am 27 and haven't really got in to any career or career I would like. I like doing creative things arts, craft, graphics, did do 2D and 3D drawings on computer in college, I like web design, I like drawing with oil pastels and do wonder about doing pet portraits or something, I like making stuff, I like taking photo's of things, I like thinking about how rooms should be decorated etc. Stuff like that but haven't got a clue what I wanna do career wise or what careers can get in to and how I go about it. You may be too young for quilting, but I have seen some quilts which are just awesome and you can always sell them for a bundle because they are your own personal artwork. Today, my friend Anita managed to find and buy a felting machine for only $200 USA dollars. She is all excited because it is like a vehicle for her creative artwork. She also creates drawings spontaneously and then submits the designs into her computer and the computer prints out a template so she can enlarge the design and transfer it onto cloth and the results are stunningly beautiful wall hangings. They also sell really well for very good prices. If you can just focus on what you love to do, the career thing will take care of itself. The reason I mention quilting to you is because you are a natural. You have the design thing down already, and learning how to cut the pieces and hand-sew them all together is something you could master during one summer. You could get very good prices for individual quilts. Plus you would have the joy of knowing you created them from your mind into cloth to keep people warm and happy. Source(s): Snow Fox, there are a million careers out there and you have plenty of time to find one of them in your lifetime. Good luck to you, too! - Chris! it all really depends on what you like to do. take what every it is that you like to do and use it to your advantage. if you dont find anything your interested in well make it interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Advertising. Well, the creative and artistic part of advertising that is. Or be a freelance artist in all sorts of mediums. I'd say start with creating a website featuring your works, print up some business cards and start advertising your site on message boards and to friends and family. If you want to get into advertising I'd say create a resume and start handing it around to local employment agencies and advertising agencies. you may want to start with a career/personality interest survey. Hollands Career key asks a series of questions that places your personality type into careers that may interest you. You can then research some of the ideas that seem appealing to you. it is worth a shot and it will give you some ideas in which you may have not considered. I am alot like you - creative and I love decorating and doing art work and someday I'd like to pursue photography more. I am a portrait artist... but just love the arts. I am finally going to college in my mid 30s and I just couldn't decide and I was hoping something would come to me. But, here I am broke and working in dead end jobs. OK, so I went to the local community college and they have alot of 2 year programs. Your college near you probably does to. I am going into respiratory therapy. It will pay about $50K a year when I am done with school... Then I will make money I can actually live on and then I plan to pursue an art career more passionately. Because it is hard to be creative when you are broke and worried about bills. But when making good money - I will be able to take photography classes or art classes or whatever and have the money to pay for my hobby that will eventually make me money. I really hate it that I can't just get into an art career - but I'm too broke to do that. Art takes money to produce. IF you are being financially supported by someone else - you can pursue art now - but if you're on your own - you might want to consider getting into a job that pays well so you can do the art. Do you want to do these things for a living or would you rather do these thing because you love to.
