After the job interview how would I ask the result?

i had a job interview last friday.
since i already have a job offer from another company
which expects me from august 1st, they told me they would
give me the result before that starts.
and today is the last day i can turn it down.
so should i call or email?
either case what would be the appropriate way to
put it? ( to ask the result of the interview)

Just follow up after couple days and say:

"Hi Susan, this is _ ____, I would like to follow up with the Teller position that I was interviewed for on Tuesday......"

"Hi Susan, .......................I would like to get an update on the position I had interviewed for on Tuesday....."
They will call YOU and let you know. They have already hired someone else. Let Go Move On.
Call them and ask if they're going to offer you a job. If they say no, then tell them, "Good, I didn't want to work here anyway."
