What do you call a doctor that delivers baby? |
Theres a specific name for that doctor but i just dont know it. Obstetricians deliver babies. Gynecologists take care of female reproductive organs. Most do both, and are OB/Gyns. A few do just Gynecology. OB's all do gynecology as well. Family medicine doctors can also deliver babies. Non - MD (or non-DO) practitioners include midwives who deliver babies, and doulas, who give birthing support (like an extra labor coach, besides your family). arent they called midwives? obstetrician catcher (like in baseball...) Obstetrician/Gynecologists delivers babies, but I don't think that's the answer you were looking for obstetrician,, it's tough to find a dr that is just an obstetrician though, most of them are also gynocologists... So you are looking for a OB/GYN Obstetrician/ gynecologist |
