I am applying for a job in journalism for the first time and have some clips from a college newspaper. I have been told that it's best to send the resume and clips via US mail because employers don't like sorting through weblinks for clips. However, some job listings request resumes to be sent by e-mail. Two of my best clips have no weblink and are available electronically only via PDF files, which I am told Mac users cannot read. Many in journalism use Macs. Any advice on how to submit clips for positions requesting e-mailed resumes? Also, where do I type the weblinks - in the cover letter?? Do I mention in the cover letter that some clips are attached as PDFs?
You can usually save PDF files to Word docs (there is a "Save As" option when you have the file open)
I would put the links on the bottom of the resume. Just list as Additional Information
Best of luck.
