Job Interview.... Please Help!!? |
I have an interview today for a receptionist job but i am a very shy person and my social skills are terrible..whats the best way to make a good impression. please give as much ideas as possible Take a deep breath before going in. Listen to their questions carefully, and answer appropriately. Probe with a follow up questions that indicates you have been listening. As a receptionist, you will be expected to present the company to visitors, so try to seem outgoing and somewhat talkative. I always freak about that kinda stuff too. best way to make a good impression is confidence obviously.. it might be hard but Usually when someone is shy, people will walk all over you.. don't let them do that. Act like you know what you're doin, what you want, and don't make it seem like you are clueless. . . . ya know? Good luck girly Smile alot! I was pretty shy when I was working(i'm a stay at home now) and interviews where hard for me. But you dont have to speak alot to make a good impression. Just make sure to answer questions clearly(and to the point!), smile and make eye contact as much as possible. I know the eye contact may be hard if your shy but making eye contact makes the interviewer know you are listening to them and makes you seem more honest. Good luck! Dress for the job.Do some research about the company.A firm handshake.Eye contact with the interviewer. If do not understand the question, ask again.Speak clearly. Thanks the interviewer for his or her time.Good luck! Are you sure this is the job for you???? Well, if you want the job, here are some key elements to remmember: 1. Nobody wants to hire someone better than themself. usually the one doing the hiring wants to feel like the alpha dog. So, do not sit up straighter than them, unless they are very short and you are very tall, try to sit lower than them in the chair. 2. They want you to sound intelligent but alos subserviant. You can sound intelligent and still sound like you know your place is below them. 3. Clothes are important, Dress professionally. Rarely will you lose a job by dressing well, but if it comes down between you and one other person who came in a sundress or jeans. 4. Bring at least 3 copies of your resume'. Most often they will have a second or third person come in to the interview. It can be awkward if the first and second person have to keep passing it back and fourth. The third copy is for yourself. This way as the interviewer is going through the resume' you don't have to stand up or force him to keep sharing it with you. Not only does it make the interview go smoother, but it shows him you are well organized and prepared for situations. These are the four biggest tips I can give you. I wish you the best of luck... Let us know if ya got the job!!!! In an interview you have to state your goals to the questioner and your interset in the job. Also, what you can for the company and what you can accomplishin this job plus your contributions to make a name for yourself in the job. You have to show confidence, ambition, courage, interest, greatfullness, and appreciation. be sure to ask the person questions about the job in the interview and it is best not to ask after the interview. You have to be front with them, so they know what you want. Above all else, just smile and respect that person for giving you a chance to meet you. Dress proffessionally or just like any other receptionist does. Dress code is very important in first impressions and interviews. GOOD LUCK! Do not where baggy clothes something suffisticated. Do not chew gum it always gets in the way. Take a deep breath before u go in and u be fine. Just answer all the questions and it should be piece of cake! Dont worry u will be fine good luck with your interview it was nice to answer some of your question hope u get the job Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... |
