What would you say is a better career choice? |
I'm trying to decide on what to go to school for and haveing a hard time. I'm thinking about becomeing a physical therapist. But I also want to go for auto body/mechanic, because cars are my passion. So I'm just wondering what would yall , mainly those who have a career, say would be a better choice? To go with my head and something that's less physicaly demanding and more secure financialy? Or to go with what I love? Thanks for any input! Always, always follow your passion. If you do that the money and happiness will follow. Go to a car dealer that you respect in your area and ask to speak with someone over the service department. Ask them what you should do to get into auto mechanics. Today with all the high tech items in cars this is a very skilled position and the pay is very good. Some auto mechanics make in excess of $100,000 a year. Good Luck. I personally would do what I loved. Good luck! Go with what you love, you dont want to be someplace for 40+ hours a week wishing you had chosen your dream job... Life is short, persue your passion-what else is there? Why spend your life being on the straight and narrow? Whats the point? go for your passion... becoz if you opt for anything else... you'll be bored of it in few years and rest of your life will feel like have committed a big mistake. So, passion first... live your life and don't just survive I agree with the others. Do what you love!! A job is meant to be a career and life - so make it one...don't join the far too many out there who see it as a 9-5 survival task and loathe going to work. If you do what you love, you'll love your work and do a lot better at it! If you're going to put in 40 hrs a week and 8 hours a day, well, that's at least 33% of your time (if not more when you include overtime) so why waste that 33% of your life...? Do what you love! Why do you mention being a physical therapist? You haven't said if you hated it or not. I say this because although it is true that you should always try and do what you love you gotta know that when you turn your passions into your job you end up spoiling it and you will gradually start to hate your passions. I did this with cars, mechanics, bikes. Loved all of them now can't say I hate them but I am burned out... I could have done without knowing all the politics that go with them and all the jerks involved with them.. Now I think of the BS and I can't even enjoy a ride in my own motor. So if you even half like to be a physical therapist, just consider that you could always do cars in your hobby time for your own pleasure instead of doing other people's cars, fixing motors that have been wrecked by cretins who have no clue how to treat their cars, that's one of the worse one, or dealing with people who accuse you of being a bad mechanic when in actual fact it is them who have no clue how to treat their own car. Never mix passion with work as it is easy to spoil them, so consider it well what to do. On the other hand, you should not do a job you absolutely hate. |
