What is a nice way to say that you are quitting your job to your employer? |
I am going to be a full time college student and it is going to be impossible for me to keep my job. So how can I say to my boss that I would no longer keep my job. I am 18 and currently living with my parents. I would just say that I am entering (or returning to) college in the fall and since I will need to focus on my studies, I will not be able to continuing working at my current job. give them 2 weeks notice explaining that you no longer have time to work and that you are going to be leaving the company. I hope you understand, I am starting college and I just cant keep up my grades/studies and work as much as I would like. I can train my replacement if you like. just tell you boss that you would like to give your two weeks notice cause you will be a full time student soon and your studies are very important and they come first. He/She will totaly understand tell them what said in this question - there won't be any har feelings - try and give 2 wks notice When you put in your notice tell your boss that you are going to college and that you will no longer be able to dedicate yourself to the job. Thank your boss for the oppurtunity to work for the company. Even if it's a sh!t job, you may need them as a reference in the search for future jobs. Don't burn any bridges. "although i have enjoyed the experience i have earned by working here, i am putting in my resignation for such and such date. i will be be attending college and would like to focus on my studies." something along those lines. be sure to give at least 2 weeks notice. |
