Do you get responses from your on line job searches?

I actually do get some. Many of them are not for the job I sent a resume for and many of the jobs pay less than what I wanted. I would say around 3% of my online job finds result in a job interview. What about others.

I have gotten good leads from dice.com and monster.com. In fact, my current job came from a recruiter seeing my resume on dice and contacting me.

There were lots of spam contacts, though for jobs outside of my field, or outside of my area. Next time I plan to create a separate email account just for posting to on line job sites.

I'd agree that the number of interviews is pretty low. However, it seems to be one of the better job search tools anyway.
NO, especially from usajobs.com. They suck!!! I graduated from college with 2 degrees over a year ago and I work at Wal-Mart.
I get alot of responses from online I love it!! And know that I have a job I really get alot of responses. What you have to do is post you resume to sites like hotjobs.com, washingtonpost.com,careerbuild... and monster.com. You will get so many responses ..
usajobs are looking for very specific people. But, the answers is "no". They are looking at gazillions of resumes, looking for the one person they can get the cheapest and who knows the most.
I didn't have the best luck with online job searches. Some were better than others. The hardest part about job searching is there are a lot of jobs that they don't post anywhere. Two good ways to handle this is to get cover letters and resumes in order and dress up and go to the companies and personally hand them your info and see they have anything. You can also call, or email the human resources department of those places.

It's a lot of work and most of the time there isn't a whole lot of payoff but when you find someone with any opening, the guy who physically was out there job searching looks better than one who knows how to send a resume online.
Are you kidding? I get all kinds of responses. I get responses I didn't even
ask for.

I was a bill collector for 35 years and I retired in 2004. I decided to go back part time since i'm getting social security, I must have email about 300 resumes since 3/07 and never got 1 response. Prior to that, I never had a problem getting a job. I gave up.
