What are some signs that somebody is going to quit their job very soon? |
Like within a matter of weeks. I wouldn鈥檛 act like I was going to leave at all. I would ask about promotions and personal movement within the company. When I was leaving the U.S. Army one thing that I noticed was how army service members, that was the regular lifer types, treated those of us who were getting out soon. They would order or otherwise put those who were short timers on long work duty in early AM morning hours as well. I told everyone - like my supervisors - in the military that I was re-enlisting for 3 more years and only then did they leave me alone. I got out alive. Learn to look for people who are updating their resumes and just once in a while probe for information if it is you who are looking for signs of a co-worker leaving. It could be as simple as saying 鈥渄id you hear about that job paying $22 bucks an hour?鈥? 鈥淲ould you take that job?鈥? If it is you that wants to avoid showing signs of your leaving soon then act like you love the job and you are going to be there forever. You get my drift. Source(s): Personal knowledge Not happy Eager to go home Doesn't talk much drags a** complains alot looks at want ads They don't show up?! It's hard to tell, and it depends on the person. But if a work place environment is friendly, and the work is enjoyable then the turnover rate would be much lower. however, if the work is undesirable, and the wage is oppressive, or the work environment is cold. Then you can not expect a worker to stay put and remain economic slaves forever, they will undoubtedly strive for a better life. only those that have been thoroughly down beaten will settle for crap jobs. For these crap jobs it's better to hire older folks with no hope of a better future. If the job is crappy, but the working environment is friendly, the turnover rate will also be much lower. |
