Are there any established Real Estate Agents out there?!?

Im starting online classes in about two weeks and I would love to know:

Your average Pay and Your favorite thing about the job.

I work a lot with realtors. Here are a couple things to keep in mind:

Your classes will teach you more about the legal aspects of RE in your state, and less about how to market/promote yourself.

RE is a personality business. It takes knowing a lot of people and being good at building relationships. That's one thing that many people love about it.

Don't be discouraged if you get off to a slow start. Building credibility and relationships in a 3-5 year sales cycle takes time.

Watch out for the amount of money you will give up to your broker in exchange for the training/marketing.

Lead generation is where you will probably be spending most of your time. Be disciplined about this on a daily basis.

Realize that probably 80% of people that start in RE this year will be out of it by 2009.
