When job hunting do you put a personal URL on your resume?

Don't think that HR departments don't type in your name or email address to see what kind of dirt they can find on your myspace or facebook profiles. Do you put your page on private or do you have an online portfolio worthy of potential employers eyes, like on YSN.com or LinkedIn.com?

if your URL has potential to make you or break you should be what you are looking at. if you are unsure of how you would come across on your site, either clean it up and put it on private. you cannot predict what others will do, so the best defense is a strong offense.
Not only do we check myspace, facebook, etc., we also google you - so your point is very valid. If you list a url as www.mysexkitten.com, guess who's probably not gonna get a call for an interview? (unless it's for an exotic dance job, lol!)

If it's a site that will enhance your credibility for employment, list it. If it's strictly for social networking, don't list it and make sure the content is relatively g-rated in case we check.
I'm a graphic artist.

I keep an online portfolio of my best work.

I used to carry around a big old paper portfolio. I can't tell you how many times I watch it get opened and stared at blankly at interviews. They never really looked at it.

I know lots of artists who simply put ads for famous products in their paper portfolios (ads that they had nothing to do with), because the interviewers aren't looking to see how good your work is (they don't care really), but how large your clients are.

An online portfolio has greater impact. It can be viewed any time. And as long as it doesn';t look like some pasted together mySpace page, a well designed web page impresses people.

I also provide links to all my client's pages, as a kind of instantly checkable reference list, since my client's sites always link back to mine.

This builds credibility.
