YA please help with your opinion....? |
I had an interview three weeks ago and a week later was called to say I had got the job and a week went by before the start date and there was no welcome mail or contract. Even on the start date I then found out that there were others employed in the same bracket and we were all wondering the same and thinking this is not usual. We were all suspicious about the terms of our employment although we did respond to a specific advert which was permanent fulltime. On the first day we were promised the contracts during the week and then the next day my manager told me they made a mistake and only had three contracts full time and a fixed term contract and that I being below in their consideration was chosen to be a fixed term contract but this isnt what I applied for is this right or what is the reason and what should I do? I suppose this underlines the importance of waiting for the offer of employment to be put in writing before accepting it. Unless you have written proof that you applied for, were offered and accepted a permanent position there is not much you can do about it now. Source(s): ex union steward I wouldn't want to work for that company. In the future, take control of your life and ask all the questions up front. I have to say, I do not think this sounds like a company I would like to work for. They obviously misrepresented some things and they may be "bending" the truth about other things. If you are in a situation that you need that work, take it and get looking for another job in a hurry. If this was a change of job, I would suggest passing it over and keep looking for something better. Good luck, that one is not easy. hello tina you should ask someone who is in charge of the person who hired you and find out why they considerethe others instead of you they shafted you hon good luck dear Never mind your position in that company, they sound highly suspect, I personally would not feel confident or secure working for such an organisation. Look for another job, right away, it is easier to get a job if you already have one. When questioned by new prospective employees, give your reason for leaving as they were unethical and offered no security which only became apparent after you had started working for them and you are looking for a job with stability. Good luck, don't stay in this job, you are not valued there. |
