Recruiter or HR Manager? Is it possible without a degree?

I took an on-line assesment for career paths and determined HR or recruiting was best suited for my personality. I also love working with people so this is perfect. But I don't have a degree. I do have 30 years of experience in retail management. What is the best way to get into HR? Does anyone hire apprentices for these positions or does my experience qualify me for an HR position? Any help would be much appreciated.

Such strong experience would certainly hold you in good stead for a job in recruitment. There are no formal/tertiary qualifications required, however tenacity, positive thinking and professionalism are essential! If you are based in Australia, just drop me an email and I will give you the contact details of someone who can talk you through the possibilities recruiting offers. Good luck!
