Ultimately you can reduce the amount of years you have to pay on your mortgage depending on the amount of extra principal paid monthly. (i.e., 30 year mortgage reduced to 25 or 20 years). You may request an amortization schedule from your lender. Have several ways to stash cash chunk down what ever you have left every month. Put some in an interest building account with a high yield. Only buy in bulk once a month and do not make any unnecessary trips do everything at one time. Be wary of some sales and compare prices. You may think you are getting a good deal, but usually the markup is higher. If it is not a necessity to live do not buy it. I agree with what everyone said except for your mortgage. Get an amortization so out know exactly how much you're paying each month. On the first half of the life of a mortgage, you pay about 70%. Whatever you save in coupons, put it in a coffee can.
