Shouldn't be a problem but it is?

I inherited a good sum of money plus an estate. Having been a person that pretty muched lived paycheck to paycheck I am faced with one problem. I am 33 and because of this, I will be retiring in 2 months. I want to hire a person to manage my money, but I have heard that some lottery winners have hired such agencies and they have bled them dry in a few years with fees, etc.... Some of these agencies are not legit and prey on people such as myself. Besides the BBB (which I feel is not accurate) how can I find an agnecy that wont rip me off if I don't know anyone that has used them?

Thank you

so you won a lottery! Big deal..You are only 33, dont retire. Poeple who lost all their WIN money were those that stopped doing anything. The difference is that now you can do what you really like to do. Secondly, think about this. Who can take better care of your money than you yourself. Start learning about finance, investing, put things in bank, earn interest. Create a portfolio, Diversify your investments, give to charity. Dont let agencies or any one agency take ccare of your finances. Learn and when you are absolutely sure than have people work for you to do what you want them to do, rather than doing what they want you to do with your money. When the man with the money depends on other people "recipe for bankruptcy". ENjoy :)) Source(s): The only investment guide I will ever need.
Wow, well congrats to you!

I wish I could help but I haven't been so fortunate as to have this problem.
Check with state and federal fraud and scam agency, and the attorney's general office to see if the company has any complaints and investigations going on. Find a reputable estate lawyer or accountant and let them help you set up your finances. Best of luck and enjoy!
Bummer, I wish I had this problem. :)

I would hire a lawyer. Then a financial planner to help you invest, spend, etc. properly. I wouldn't hire one of those agencies. JMO
