I got scam by a ebay seller, how should I get my $ back?

I recently just purchase an airline voucher from this ebay buyer "steuart " , since ebay has a policy that they can only sell 2 voucher per month, so I made an offer to a buyer (private auction, since I don't have any ebay item #) and we agree to pay through paypal, and he say he will immediately email all the info such as voucher # etc to me, so i can book asap. But I never receive any email from him, and I try email him so many times, but no respond, since it was a private deal, ebay can't do anything about it, I open a case with paypal, but I was just wondering if there is any chance i can get my $ bak, and also if any of you know this ebay seller? Thanks!

You wont get anywhere with Ebay, but you may just have a case with PayPal. PayPal is a payment service, and it is used for many other business transactions other than Ebay. Pursue your case with them, it is your best hope of getting your $$ back. Be sure you list FRAUD as the reason for the chargeback. They can freeze his account and get the $$ back to you.. If you paid with a credit card thru paypal contest it
there is a place in ebay, that you can complain on this issue, also complain to paypal
It wouldn't hurt to contest it through Paypal, but I'm sorry to tell you--you're probably facing an uphill battle. eBay tries to filter emails and prevent people from making private offers, for reasons like this, and because they want to make their money through the auctions.

I was bidding on a Playstation 3 a few weeks ago, and I got several email offers to do an "offline" transaction like this. I didn't do it though, because I was afraid that this kind of thing would happen to me too.

Keep in mind that eBay has policies against this type of activity, and Paypal is owned by eBay.

I'd try to fight it if I were you, but I'd expect to not get the voucher or your money back at this point.
I just got scammed too! I bought a bed from a reputable Power Seller and was told it would be 60 - 90 days to receive because it was custom made. Got a receipt, e-mails regarding shipping, etc... Paypal, Debit Cards, and E-bay will only protect you for 45 days. I'm out of luck, and according to the police this guy took off after years of good business with so far over 150K from 22 people with 150 more that haven't filed their claim yet. We are all out of luck. Go through paypal if it has been less than 45 days, and you have all your backup. That is your best bet, or your bank
Ebay has their own dispute resolution process. You may like many things have to do this before you ever go to court and otherwise. Otherwise you may be barred from doing so. Though each situation differs and so do the laws. Speak with ebay, they are a reputable place and will do what they can to help. Scammers are bums. And I apologize for your inconvenience.
