Unfurnished accommodation?

it has always been my understanding that an unfurnished house needs only a bathroom suite and a kitchen sink. i have now been told that they need floorcovering of some sort and even curtains. does anyone know where the law stands on this?

They could take you to court over it but they wouldn't get anything out of it, yes, a bathroom and kitchen sink but by no means do you have to provide curtains or floorcoverings,,,sounds like there just trying to get some free things out of you.....there is no law saying you have to provide those things, if there not happy about it then they can find else where to live is what i'd say
Unfurnished usually means no furniture but should have soft surnishing - carpet, curtains etc.
In the past I have also wanted white goods or I walked away from the property!

You provide an empty property and people will simply rent a property with those items above in ......... or you charge a lot less per month (than the competition) to attact a client.
somebodys yankin your chain.....my landlord said he dont do window coverings, and in the same breath says I cant hang sheets or blankets....
I have hardwoods, if I said I was going to put carpet down, he'd have a fit. I dont think theres much law that pertains to these two things......
stove and refrid. comes w/ it........
If you can find a tenant who is happy to rent from you with no floor coverings and curtains then go ahead. If however you are having no luck then at least put in a cooker, and curtains. If you have floorboards then thats ok ,people like them, just put washable floor coverings in bathroom and kitchen.
Don't know where you stand legally but I've been to a lot of unfurnished properties lately and they usualy have all the white goods, bathroom suite, wallpaper and carpet. Most also have curtains and/or blinds. Most also have all the access points for TV, Cable, Phone ect.
