What is a blog to a website? |
Question Details:I was reading some guys artical on SEO it mentioned a blog would help seo---- how the heck does a blog help a web site in SEO?? I have multi web sites right now and they all fall mid first page on all major search engines for key search phrases so again how can a blog help my site gain even one position on yahoo or google??? none of my sites are blogs right now did this guy mean make a blog on a different domain and just point links to a different site or did this guy mean make a blog with in a sub directory of one of my existing sites??? and again how the heck would it help my SEO ?? A blog on your site can make it easier to attract incoming links, which are a vital part of SEO. If you have a site selling shoes, few people will link to your boring sales page on their own. But write a great blog post about the craziest shoe styles throughout history, complete with entertaining photos, and you have a page that other bloggers might enjoy and want to share (via links) with their friends/readers. Blogs also provide a means for creating fresh content on a regular basis. Regular updates let the search engines know your site is active and keep the search spiders coming back. There may be other benefits as well, but those are 2 of the biggest, as far as SEO is concerned. Even without the SEO benefits, you may find that adding a blog to your web site can have other benefits as well, such as building community and putting a human face on your business.
