Computers search engines?

Computers search engines?

Are you asking this question from 1996?

Since these questions were most likely written, America Online renamed itself to simply AOL. AOL does not use Excite as its search engine anymore - they use Google and have for some time.

AOL does not own any of the search engines listed. They briefly owned WebCrawler between on June 1995 and April 1997, when they sold it to Excite. It was then acquired by InfoSpace when Excite@Home went bankrupt.

As to your second question, Yahoo is the only one listed that is not a meta-search engine. In fact, Inference Find and Savvy Search appear to have quietly gone out of business.
