Is it better to create a website on your own or pay someone to design it for you? |
I recently started working for a company that currently does not have a website. I was looking for any suggestions as to if it is better to create a website yourself or pay professional people to design one for our company. My company sells gas and has 14 different branches, however, the name of the branch changes depending on the location. So all together there are 14 branches with 5 different names. Most people don't have this however, which is why us developers keep our jobs. :) For what you're talking about, I would say it would be fine to create your own site (if you know how) especially since there's so many different branches/names. I would think that paying someone for the amount of traffic you may get would be a waste. However, with that being said, if you don't know how to do a website and/or have absolutely no time to devote to creating one but you feel you need one that badly, then by all means find someone locally that can do some sites for you cheap. Make sure to get quotes from two-three companies if you go this route. You should really think about why you are creating the website. What are your goals.
