What is affiliate on the Internet? |
Is it created by Amazon? How does it work? How to make money from it? Thanks. If you are an affiliate with a company, that means that you refer people to their company and then earn a commission of the sales that they make. It could be from 5% to 75% depending on the company or product. Not all businesses have affiliate programs, so you have to check to see which ones do and then sign up. Others have already listed some of the options available. There are different ways to make money from affiliate programs - you can promote the product in a forum or somewhere else, but what I do is promote specific products on my own website http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com... I get commissions from my referrals, but I also earn advertising income from Google Ads. I really like it. I don't have to actually sell anything myself. Probably the thing that helped me understand affiliate marketing was a free book I downloaded called the Affiliate Masters Course. You can read it too if you like at http://aff-masters.sitesell.com/angie5.h... That goes into the whole concept step by step and is really helpful. All the best. Affiliate program is one of the most effective internet marketing techniques around. Companies such as Amazon, eBay, among others set up affiliate programs where they recruit websites who will generate sales and leads for them, in exchange for a commission. Depending on how the affiliate program is measured -- it can be sales, newsletter signups, or sales lead -- a web publisher can sign up and join the program and start earning money by providing the company with the sales or leads that is required Amazon is one of the first companies who realized the power of tapping other websites for increasing their sales in exchange for giving these sites a percentage of the sales. You sign up for the affiliate program, the company will review your site to see if your site fits with their program (some are stricter than others), and if approved, you can start putting in the company's marketing materials -- banners, text ads, skyscrapers, etc -- and you can start earning money if those ads generate sales or leads for the company You can sign up for affiliate programs from: Commission Junction http://www.cj.com Linkshare http://www.linkshare.com and individual websites such as Amazon Affiliate programs are very used at the moment, as it is a good advertising method paying only when it generates revenue. Affiliates works great with blogs, but not only. Good results have many websites as well. As an affiliate you will get paid an amount of money only when someone referred by you will complete a purchase/sign up at the advertiser website. The money you will earn with such a deal are by far much more than using a pay per click program. For a list of the best affiliate networks see here: http://www.webeki.com/index.php?option=c... Cheers Internet affiliates are typically what are referred to as Pay Per Action. Here is how it works you put a link, graphic or download on your website, if a visitor clicks through AND ends up purchasing you receive a percentage of the sale. The tracking is usually done through browser "cookies". The "cookie" killer programs really effected the revenue affiliates were able to make and other tracking systems are now often used, including unique URLs for different affiliates, and for things like software, wrappers are often used to track the source of the original click. Amazon was one of the first large companies that employed an affiliate program, basically if you put an Amazon affiliate link on your website and a website visitor clicks through and ends up purchasing anything at Amazon you receive a percentage of everything they purchase in that session. Affiliate marketing is a method of promoting web businesses (merchants/advertisers) in which an affiliate (publisher) is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through his/her efforts. Affiliate marketing is also the name of the industry where a number of different types of companies and individuals are performing this form of internet marketing, including affiliate networks, affiliate management companies and in-house affiliate managers, specialized 3rd party vendors and various types of affiliates/publishers who utilize a number of different methods to advertise the products and services of their merchant/advertiser partners. Affiliate marketing overlaps with other internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates are using the same methods as most of the merchants themselves do. Those methods include organic search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, email marketing and to some degree display advertising. Affiliate marketing - using one site to drive traffic to another - is the stepchild of online marketing. While search engines, e-mail and RSS capture much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing, despite lineage that goes back almost to the beginning of online retailing, carries a much lower profile. Yet affiliates continue to play a fundamental role in e-retailers' marketing strategies.[1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/affiliate_m... |
