Adding my website to google??? |
I see that it is pretty simple to add my website to the google search engine but people have been telling me that it cost to have your site added on and have it show up in the first page or two? I have yet to see a cost on googles site. Is there indeed some type of cost to have your site added and it not actually be ten pages into the search? Would my site show up on the first page or two of a search? The cost to show up on the first page of google is Time Unless you do a PPC campaign. To get into the first couple pages for specific keywords in google is possible it just depends on how long your website has been around and how much competition there is for your keywords that you are using. It also depends on how well your pages are SEO optimized (search Engine Optimized) you'll want you primary keyword or phrase in the title of your site and use those primary keywords or phrases throughout your webpages within your website. However that being said the quickest way to get in the top at google is just to make an adwords campaign and Pay Per Click or (PPC). Type in a word.... on google... try the word coffee you'll notice at the right hand side of the screen and at the very top of the screen there are small little classified paid ads..... that is Google Adwords ads and they will cost you per click. Actually its really not all that expensive. There is really a lot on this subject to talk about but if you'd like to learn more visit http://increase-website-traffic-free.blo... as it helps with that and with website traffic and how to get it easily. Hope this helps. When you start your own website, there is a cost for having your site on the first couple of pages. Companies pay big money for there names to come up first. The only way to get your name on the first couple pages without paying is to have a unique name that no one else has. You should google what you want to name your site and see how many pages come up. Count those pages and when you get to the end, that is where your site will be. Unless you pay money. You can add your web site to scores of search engines for free. Each one has a link some place where you can suggest web sites that they might want to consider ... not just limited to your own site. This is 100% for free, however, it can be time consuming for you. There are a number of services out there, where you pay them a nominal sum of money like $ 50.00 say, and they do the adding for you. If I was running an Internet business & had lots of patience, I might want to add my site to one search engine a week and monitor the rate at which I got new business, to see which ones most effective, then consider an advertising budget. There are millions of sites out there ... if you just get yourself added to the google or yahoo or other search engine collection, the odds are that people who only look at the first few pages of hits are never going to find you. To fix that, you have to seriously study web site design, and how to design to get prominance in search engines. That is a huge topic, outside the scope of "law and ethics" category. Here is one starting point for that education. One of many. http://searchenginewatch.com/showpage.ht... Here's an essay I wrote years ago which might help you somewhat on this http://radio.weblogs.com/0107846/stories... I haven't had the time for a long time to continue adding to my blog. It is easy to get indexed by Google. Check the sources for more info on this. Sponsored results are paid and they appear on the first page, I guess that's the reason why people tell you that it costs to get your site on the first page. You do not have to spend money to get your site on top of the SERPS (search engine result pages), you just have to optimize your site properly. That means you have to choose the right keywords, fix your META tags and use the proper title for your website. Take a look at the sources for more info on SEO. I'm sure the articles there will help you. http://www.tw3o.com/category/seo/... http://www.tw3o.com/2007/08/08/get-index... It does not cost to get your site on Google's first page. What you have been told is reference to Google's pay-per-click (aka Adwords) advertising campaign. This, in my opinion, is for those companies who wish to have their site displayed prominently as a 'sponsored ad' (located at the very top or right hand side of the page) and they have a budget to do this. These companies specify how much they are willing to pay per click - or impression - to have their website displayed prominently. It is actually very easy to have your site displayed on Google's page 1, provided you have done some basic search engine optimization: keyword research to know which words and phrases people use to find your site, back-link building (where other sites have a link to your site within their site), and quality content to keep people interested. These are the major seo items. It takes time, patience, and some seo knowledge to get to page 1, but it is definately do-able without spending any money.
