Ebay bidding? |
so im bidding on this fabric on ebay and everytime i bid higher right when i click the commit to pay button the other person bids 25 cents higher. do they have a program or something that does that or.....? That is one of the features of e-bay. say you want to bid on a product.. ok for example the highest amount that you want to pay for this item is 10.50, ok the bid is at 1.00 at the moment, you enter your highest bid that you are willing to pay at 10.50. then joe blow comes on and sees the bid and says "ok the highest bid that I want to pay for this item is 15.00" Well the most he wants to pay is more than you are willing to bid, he would be considered the highest bidder. So the bid is automactically set at 25 cents higher than your current bid to 10.75, ok so you decide that you will higher your bid to 11.00. Well the other guy has already made a commitment to buy the item for 15.00, so that is still lower than you are willing to pay. So e-bay ups the bid to 11.25 to outbid you because he is willing to pay more. This will continue until you go over the 15.00 he is willing to pay and say you want to pay 16.00. Then the computers at e-bay automatically have you as the highest bidder because you bid more than him. It would make the bid at 15.25 and it continues until they bid higher than you.. Geez louise I hope you understand because this is giving me a headache! lol Hope this helped you. they have already placed a maximum bid, and ebay is automatically bidding for them. You have to go higher than their maximum bid to out bid them. You have to guess at what that is. It simply means that he already has a higher bid then you, probably considerably bigger. That is a feature of eBay, when you enter your maximum bid, and if it is the highest, the computer will automically keep you in the lead, by updating your bid until your highest bid is outbid, basically, you have to outbid the leaders maximum bid, (which by the way, is kept hidden). It a simple enough concept, but its quite hard to describe, so I hope I've done ok. |
