Why are business newspapers pink in colour? |
Couldnt find in google. Please help :) The London Financial Times and The New York Observer are pink, actually not pink, it's salmon pink. It's easier on the eyes to read. The Financial Times (both the British and the German edition) are printed on pink-ish paper, as is the Gazetta dello Sport in Italy. The simplest thing is that paper isn't normally pink, so you have to invest money to dye it. The only case in which that makes sense is one on which there are many non-pink papers and you want yours to be the one that sticks out. Apparently, the Gazetta used to be all kinds of colours before it ended up pink, as you can see from this wiki entry: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/la_gazzetta... Not sure why the papers were pink, but I do know thats why small company or penny stocks are said to "trade on the pink sheets" |
