How important are keywords? |
For those of you wanting to drive traffic to your sites on a scale of 1-10 how much importance do you give to keyword selection? I'd give it a 10. It is pretty much the first thing you want to do - determine what terms your target audience is searching for, and then use those keywords appropriately on your site (i.e. title tag and content). Many decisions are based on keyword selection including: Title tags Meta tags Content Anchor text for links! That last one is crucial for ranking well. There's no point in getting links for "cats" if your site is about "umbrellas." |
