How do i make search engines show my page with its name instead of a word "index"??? as the name to the site?

ok so lets say my page name is " Online gadgets" just an example. in my website folder i save my main page in a file called INDEX. and eventhough the meta name is stating that its "Onine gadgets"
when i pop the URL to google or yahoo, my page comes out with a name "INDEX" as the name of the page. how do i fix that? please helppp

Inside your <HEAD> tag, do you have a <TITLE> tag? If you do, then the search engines will read your title, if not, then they will read your file name. Just find the <HEAD> tag, and under it type:
<TITLE>Online Gadgets</TITLE>.
Use the TITLE tag.

For example: <TITLE>My Website</TITLE>

=)
