What businesses love to advertise? |
What businesses love to advertise? All businesses, service, retail, restaurant, need to advertise, they just might not say they LOVE it because of the cost. If they need customers, they need advertising. If you want to see who advertises the most, do two things. Keep a diary of every ad you see in a day on TV. Then do the same on the radio. Then do the same for the Sunday paper. Then go through the yellow pages, and see who has the biggest color ads. There are some things that will really stand out.....cars, communications, lawyers, restaurants, drug companies, department stores, etc. Right now, you will see the seasonal furniture ad sales, back to school stuff, end of model year clearance on cars, new cars, etc. Its a very interesting thing to study. Every month, different things are being pushed, although some things are pretty consistent. To get even more in depth about who advertises what to who, watch one night of network (NBC, ABC) tv, one night of a focused channel like Lifetime, and one on HGTV, and then do a channel surf in the middle of the night. Totally different things are being sold on those channels, but a few will be consistent. Pharmaceuticals for allergies or depression, alcohol or pop, cars, cellphones, and computers. But when you get into a very targeted audience, there will be very different items. It can be very interesting.
