Statistics for results of increased traffic by regularly changing homepage content? |
Help, please! I'm creating a PPT presentation to senior staff members of an organization with a thriving catalog and Internet business. One point I'm making in the presentation is potential benefit for increased e-commerce traffic and, hopefully, sales by keeping homepage content fresh. I'm in need of factual info, statistics, ANYTHING supporting this idea. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. well this is based on a lot variables. if you were to have a page about your pet fish and have two visitors a month, changing the content daily, weekly, or monthly won't have much effect and bring in thousands of new visitors. conversely, if you have a popular website visited by millions and continually change the website's core format you risk alienating returning visitors. people like simple websites and consistency within websites, if you only update the information and news then there's no problem, but tampering with the style and format can anger or confuse your user base. obviously, returning people expect fresh information on a variable basis so it's very important you update periodically. none of this is cited or sourced or very helpful, so good luck getting your information hence the phrase "content is king" entireweb.com and their newsletter http://entireweb.com/newsletter/... any site about blogging will tell you how constant updates will increase traffic. |
