In Singapore, other than income tax, are there any other mandatory deductions that are made from one's salary?
There is mandatory social insurance. It is a retirement fund where you make contributions, and once you reach retirement age, the fund pays your contributions, plus its earnings, back out to you.
If you are considered an expatriate employee (a company from outside Singapore relocates you to Singapore for work), you may possibly be exempt from the provident fund depending on how your contract is set up. |
