What are the benefits of opening an eBay Basic Store?

I was considering opening a store on eBay and I don't really want to pay too much because I'm not a very aggressive seller. I was considering opening a Basic Store. Can anyone tell me what the benefits are of opening a store rather than just listing regularly?

Thanks!

If you have enough items, a store is the only way to sell professionally on eBay. Most people say at least 100 items "in stock" but I've seen success with 30-50 excellent items.

The Pros:

1. Listing cost
You can have items in your store for .06-.11 per 30 days, per listing, with gallery. Insertion fees for regular listings are significantly higher. Lets take for example an item that you are selling for 14.99, listed with gallery:

Store cost for 30 days: .06
Auction cost for 28 days: 3.00 (.95 per 7 days X 4)

If you have 200 listings like this, you are talking 12.00 to list in stores and 600.00 to list in "regular" auctions.

Please note this is assuming items sell at opening bid, as a store is in a 鈥渂uy it now鈥?format while auctions can be bid up from your opening. Of course, its customary to list items in your store at a higher price than the opening bid you would accept.

2. Organization
Once you've got a buyer on one of your listings, its much easier for a buyer to find your items within your store searches. Its organized and professional. This leads to repeat buyers and multiple items purchased, especially if you sell related items.

3. Seller tools.
There are many free tools included with your store subscription which would cost much more than the subscription price if purchased separately. This includes listing and analysis items.

4. Branding. You own a store, you own a name, people come back and buy more. Enough said.

Cons:

1. Finding items in searches.
Store listings don't appear in "regular" listing searches unless there are no other matching items. However if you list some items at auction to draw people in and many in your store, you will get the traffic and savings. Also, store items show up in eBay express and I鈥檝e gotten many sales from that.

2. Higher FVF. Your final value fees on store listings are higher, but I've found that the money I save on listing more than covers that.

3. Monthly fee--list 25 items per month and you've already saved more than the monthly fee for a store.

Anyone who wants to sell professionally on eBay needs a store. It won鈥檛 yield result overnight, but just give it 3 months and if you have enough good stock, you鈥檒l be happy you did. Source(s): eBay buyer and seller since 1998. Three eBay stores as well.
for you very little benefit, since ebay is now more buyer oriented as seller you are always on the receiving end and as for ebay they will make a lot of money of you quicker. dont even bother unless you are selling large volume of stuff, regularly
