What software programs do real accountants use for book keeping? |
What software programs do real accountants use for book keeping? They almost all use Sage, which is the industry standard. It helps if businesses use it as well, as it makes it easier to give the accounts to the accountant. Sage is very powerful, but with that comes complexity, although like anything, if you spend time using it you get the hang of it, and your accountant should be able to help you with any problems you have. Sage is the market leader, and we use it. Chartered Accountant Quickbooks is a popular program. Sage is the non-free, professional one. The two biggest open-source/free ones are GNUcash and Grisbi. There are actually loads of open-source free ones. Heck, you could even use Microsoft Excel if you are desperate! In India, 'Tally' is the most popular and simplest package. It is also used in other countries. i use it. I am professional accountant |
