Is a holiday considered a business day? |
Hello! I'm looking at a contract that I have signed to buy a home. I was wondering if today, the 4th of July (a holiday in the states) counts as a business day? Thank you! -George NO. Federal, or National holidays are not considered business days. no, it's a holiday in the US nope...federal holidays are NOT business days nope Generally speaking, a holiday is not considered a business day in the U.S. Whether it's a business day in other countries, I don't know; I'd assume unless there's some sort of holiday going on in the country in question, it's a business day. The 4th of July is a Federal Holiday. But if a business owner wants to do business today it is a business day for him and you if you signed that contract today. Nominally Saturday and Sunday are considered non- business days on a weekly business basis. If your in the States, just ride down the street and see what businesses might be open. There is NO LAW forbidding business to be conducted today. No. Congratulations on your new home!! |
