Does Paypal have a monopoly on eBay?

I do a lot of selling and buying on eBay so of course Paypal is a must. It doesn't seem fair that when you want to list certain auctions such as "buy it now" you have to use Paypal. Also, they imply that people who doesn't accept Paypal are probably trying to scam you. What do you think?

I'm sure you're well aware that Paypal is an eBay company, so of course they're going to promote that.

It does seem unfair if that is the only method you can use for Buy It Now auctions, though.

As for scamming, I've been a buyer and won several auctions where Paypal has not been the accepted method of payment, and I haven't been scammed once. In those instances, I just use seller feedback rating and comments as a guide. Therefore, if there is any implication from eBay that those who don't use Paypal are trying to scam you, that in my opinion is just untrue and unecessary scaremongering.
eBay OWNS Paypal, so for the buy it now feature, they will only use their own product-Paypal. I don't use buy it now because it costs more than just the basic auction listing. I accept checks, money orders and Paypal and people pay me all 3 ways.
