Does anyone out there have any tips for owning your own hair salon? |
Hi there... I am wondering if anyone out here has any tips for someone new in the cosmotolgy field?? I will start attending school in October and after I graduate and get my licence I eventually want to own my own salon...If anyone out there has any tips for a newcomer I would greatly appreciate it!! Anything regarding loans, laws, finding a slaon etc Thanks! :o) first I would advise you to build up a clientele first. Work at a few different salons for at least 2 years and see how different businesses in your area do your job. There is a lot that can be learned by working for someone else. And in the hair industry if you are good the money is great. I guarantee that if you build up your clientele you won't need to get a loan. Here in Philly there are 4-5 salons on every othere block. and in some neighborhoods it is every block. And ALL of them are making big money. People are very particular about their hair and who does it. Don't try putting the cart before the horse. You must crawl before you walk. |
