What do I need to file my taxes myself? |
What do I need to file my taxes myself? AARP does taxes, usually their located at librarys, city building or civic centers. Its a free service, check your Newspaper for locations and days. Source(s): You don't have to be a member or old either!!!It's for the community. Turbo Tax is a good program. My mom's been using that for the past few years to file her taxes, along with mine and my stepdads. you need your w2's and the info if your claiming your kids birth dates soc numbers and i think that's it! I have filed my taxes myself for the past few years. You just have to have your W-2's. I do mine on freetaxusa.com. Very easy. I'm a big fan of Turbotax. All you need to do though is to go to the library and pick up the booklets and forms for filing your taxes (1040). They have them there and they are free (the govt publishes them) and they will walk you through what you need to do. If you don't have any confusing issues, you can get the 1040ez form -- even easier! first you will need your w-2s and other income u might have received like interest, unemployment benefits and other 1099 u have got.than check all the deduction available for your status.there are lot of help u can find online if u have a doubt. |
