Do foreigners working in the US have to pay Federal taxes? |
ALSO what about other countries like England, Austrailia, Japan and China , do they recieve taxes from foreigners working in their countries ? Anyone who works in the united states is required to pay income tax. People who do not have social security numbers obtain an ITIN individual tax identification number in order to file tax returns. For example an illegal immigrant who makes up a social security number goes to work, the employer deducts all applicable taxes and at the end of the year provides worker with a W-2, the worker goes to a tax preparer and legally obtains an ITIN and legally files taxes, however they are not eligible for Medicare so the US gov't stays with that money. Part 2 there are tax laws for taking or bringing too much money, not income tax another tax. I think you would have to check each country seaparately. I work in the oilfields, and was checking on going to Saudi Arabia. I would not pay taxes there, and If I were out of the U.S. for 11 months or more of the year, I would not pay here either. |
