What is arm's length price? |
What is arm's length price? What the willing buyer would pay the willing seller when niether was under any compulsion to buy or sell. Something attainable, reasonable, reachable. Arms length is an accounting / legal term meaning that the transaction was not given preferential treatment. For example, if you sold your car to your brother for $2,000, but could sell it to me for $5,000 then that is NOT at arms length. If you sold it for the market value, that is arms length. CPA The actual market value of the object you are trying to sell. A fist to the mouth a fair price, the market price, what a normal person could go out and buy it for (no discounts because you know someone working there for example) |
