California Form 8453-OL does not need to be mailed to the FTB. (Note the upper right hand corner of the form) You should retain the form, along with your other tax documents for at least the California statute of limittions period - the later of four years from the due date of the return or four years from the date the return was filed (longer if the federal return is subject to audit or if the return concerns the sale of property).
