What exactly does a "programme analyst" do? |
I've applied for a temporary job as a "programme analyst" but I'm supposed to already have experience. I've experience as an analyst programmer and also in the analysis department of a telemarketing company so reckon I'm more than capable but can't actually find a description of the job anywhere. Any ideas? Does any of this sound familiar? The main purpose is to develop, maintain and implement appropriate procedures, processes and systems that support the effective delivery of the Capital Investment Programme. In addition you will also ensure that all capital projects are validated through my client's approval process and to maintain a complete audit trail for each individual case to satisfy both internal and external auditors. The role holder requires to have an understanding of capital investment management processes and procedures and also have a good knowledge of the construction industry, working on engineering contracts and the regulations applied to utilities companies. OR Looking for a Programme Analyst with strong experience of investment plans and capital expenditure for our major client. Reporting to the Programme and Performance Leader, the successful candidate will contribute to putting into practice the necessary requirements to support the successful delivery of the Investment Programme. You will be required to review and approve projects ensuring the they are delivered in accordance with the investment programme criteria. The successful candidate will have the ability to set and organise the priorities of their own task objectives, and preferably have knowledge of the construction industry. I know that a Programmer Analyst is a step above computer programmer, as he would be able to figure out what needs to be done, where as a regular programmer is more like a beginner and needs to be told what code to change, and where to change it. |
