I want to take a Cisco networking course when i am a jr.-senior.? |
Is this worth my time? I love computers and have many things down on them. I get a gpa of 3.4 and up every semester. I would like to know if they course is worth it in the long run in aspects of getting a job and so on. If you can manage to find a job in computer networking, Cisco training and certification will be a great thing to have. The difficulty will be finding that job - because networking was plugged for so many years as a "hot" career, too many people went into it, and now there is an overabundance of networking specialists. It is hard to find a job in this field now. If you know someone who can help you get a job or can get an internship at a company which will hire you full time later on, then you might consider it useful. In any case, learning a skill is always beneficial, and even if you don't end up going into networking as a career, you will likely find that the skill will come in handy now and then anyway. It is especially useful to learn skills in high school, when it is free. If you decide to learn this later on, it will cost you a great deal of money for the education. Good luck! Source(s): I took Cisco classes in high school though I decided not to go into it as a career. I also had a good friend who got a college degree in networking, and he now works at Target because he cannot find a networking job. Yes it's worth it but it's not easy. The pass mark is 85%. Soph. would be better, as then you can add later updated classes. Yes, good class if you're a CIS, etc. major |
