Diffeernce between Computer Science and Computer Information System?

Which one need more course to graduate? which take more math? What about pay which is better? which one has more job open out there?

Yola, I'm a CIS major. I chose it because there's not excessive math classes necessary. You really should check with the school to see what kind of degree's are out there and what the entail.

I'm getting a Bachelors of Science degree in CIS and at least here you much choose an emphasis in the field. I chose Systems Analysis which really consists of database stuff, CASE if you know what that is, and a ton of programming (both in SQL, Java, C++, and if you want them VB and COBOL).

I'm not sure which pays more but I know of a lot of places where starting programmer salaries (the jobs I'm going after) start off at 50K+ so I'm not worried which one pays more.

If you're great at math and love calculus and such you may want to get a CS degree but if you like business stuff more you should get a CIS degree.
I'm no expert but I just chose Computer Information Systems(CIS) over Computer Science(CS). CIS is a Bachelors of business degree and (CS) is a Bachelors of Science degree therefore CS has more math than CIS thats why I chose CIS. CNN.com says that a CS major starting salary is 51K it does not list CIS but it says Information Science majors make 43K starting out. I think Information Scince is pretty much the same thing as CIS. From what I have read there will be plenty of jobs for both fields. Check out this website and have fun!!!

Pick a college and take a look at the curriculum for the two different degrees. I believe that (or at least when I attended -- back with a few cave men) computer science requires more math and more credits. Relative to jobs both have opportunities but Comp Sci has the edge as far as number and salary.
40+ years of experience (operations, programming, staff, strategy, AA, consulting and management ) at a fortune 100 IT company.
The difference between computer science and information systems is computer science consists of software development, programming.

computer information systems is mainly operating a computer, to build databases, media, spread sheets, word processing, etc.

Programming maybe because, not everybody that study this field has the aptitudeo succeed and complete the course successfully. This fiels takes more maths and pays a hell of a lot more.
On balance I could be wrong but I think programming because of the specialist skills needed.
