GED or SAT for jobs? |
If you plan on getting a job in the U.S.A which is more needed, GED OR SAT? I'm from a place that don't do any of these exams, the exams I do are different and sence i'm a out of towner what would be needed for me to get a job. Assuming you've already completed your university education and you're simply looking for a job, and considering you asked in the technology section, here are the exams I'd recommend: To prove your English skills are good enough: TOEFL - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/toefl... And then one or more of the following... To prove you can program using Microsoft technologies: MCPD - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mcpd... To prove you can program using Java technologies: SCJD - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/scjd... To prove you can administer a network using Microsoft Windows: MCSE - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mcse... If you're looking to attend university in the USA then you'll need to take the following: Undergraduate (Bachelor Degree) ACT - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/act_%28exam... SAT - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/sat... (You don't have to take both, just pick one) Graduate (Masters Degree) GRE - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/graduate_re... . The GED is needed for most jobs if you do not have a high school diploma. If you graduated high school, there is no need. The SAT is a test given to incoming college level students. Employers will not ask for you to take the SAT. However, if you want to go to college you need to take the SAT or the ACT, which is the same sort of test for college. Good luck on getting a job. |
