Any web developers/web masters out there? |
Did you go to a four yr college or a trade school (do you think it makes a difference), how long did it take you to land an entry level position, is the pay good and what do you like/dislike about your profession? Web development is still a growing profession. If youre interested take a look into .NET programming. Every company needs a web site, not only a static web site, but things like interactive web portals, and sites that dynamically link to databases. I would say pay all depends on the company you work for. Large corporations will pay a lot of money to have a professional site which will secure them more sales and get them more hiring applications. As for me, I am more of an IT person, however I develop sites as a hobby so they sort of go hand in hand. I went to a 4 year school, however in the "real world" i've found that you can have 20 degrees, but if youre competing with someone that has more experience, theyll win. Development can be fun, if you enjoy being creative and understand the usability needs of end users. There are sooo many aspects to development that no one person can handle. So again if you are interested in it, decide what you would like to do. This could be usability testing, design, development, site feedback...etc the list could go on and on. Good Luck! yes, me! |
