I have my degree and I want to get into the IT field with it? I went to a school called New Horizons but It's 4,440 for a basic A+ certification. What should I do to take another route to getting that tech support job? What tips do you have if I want to do it. I am trying to work at a computer store or something but it's a ***** trying. Am I not doing enough?. Please tell me what I need in order to have a better place in the world. Thanks
You need to establish a work history. Get yourself in the door somewhere at an entry level job...even if it's a different type of office than you are interested in working in, you may be able to get an IT job. Try the hospitals, nursing homes, small offices that might need someone that does IT parttime and parttime something else. If you get yourself a work history, then start moving around from there, this is your best bet.
I found this was the hardest part for me, that's why I think internships are so important. It's just as important to work and meet people this way during school that can help you find an entry level job. Do not give up and be very very persistent. Hey Jamaal. Yeah, you shouldn't enlist in the Air Force, see if you can get an officer's commision. You have a tremendous advantage because your degree is a B.S. I got a B.A. so I'm pretty limited with options. Did you take the AFOQT? It was easier than the S.A.T. There's no obligation to go if you take the test and when you get your scores you can compare the results with the fields the military offers and apply that to civilian jobs. The officer recruiters are too busy to call you everyday so don't be deterred for a reason like that.
