How to get a computer job in Canada?

My husband is amazing with computers, he rebuilds them, can fix anything with the hardware or software, but doesnt have formal education. How can I help him find a kickin' job that allows him to use his abilities, and may well help pay for formal training? He's stuck in mindless factory work, and since we have a family he is afraid to look for something that pays a lot less than what he gets in a factory, and we cant really afford to lose the benefits.

I would suggest that he either -

- starting his own consulting firm to take projects on weekends or evenings. Once he has some business and experience in that, potential employers might better consider him if he still wants one.

- without a formal academic degree, he will benefit from having professional certifications. Microsoft professional certification might be a good place to start learning what are out there http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/de... There are many self study or programs out there that are reasonably priced.

Best wishes.
