I need to gain experience as a Mac tech support. Where can I go?

I'm looking to get an entry-level job as a Mac tech support here in NYC. I'm taking my Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist certificate exam soon, and I would really want to get a job in that field. Problem is, all the job positions I've looked at require an experienced candidate, which I am not. Where do I go to gain experience? I've thought of part-time jobs and even volunteering, but I'm having trouble looking for these type of opportunities online. Any leads will help me a great deal. Thank you!

Have you try with Apple Store? I would think even if you don't get the job behind the Genie Bar you will still be answering questions from walk-in customers. Their sales people are not commission based, so you can chat without the pressure of making sells. Also you will have access to some real experienced MAC techies.

Best wishes.
