Its 2007 we have high tech computers and robots, why do we still use humans to mine in dangerous conditions? Humans are cheaper. Not the answer we all wanted to hear, but the truth. Sorry. Let's put a higher value on humans. We have Robots? idk maybe a robot cant do whayt a human can do at least not yet to save money, sad but true I agree why do we keep send men down into mine's so they can get trapped and lose their life's ? In this day and age we should be able to come up with other way's of getting what we want out of mother earth core . Iam sure someone out there has built something we can use ,so why aren't we using it . Technology is no where near capable of doing complex jobs as mining. Mining requires complex structural analysis, and once excavated, the support structure needs to designed so the mine does not collapse. The explosive charges to clear mines need to be precisely set. None of this can be done programmatically yet. Also, there are no robots or automated systems that can do any of this. Mining as it stands now requires humans to do it. And, accidents happen because there are so many variables to consider, sometimes something goes wrong. Machines and software cannot even begin to solve the multi-dimensional aspects of mining... The computers and robots have more sense. |
